Because it can be difficult to be sure you have found a quality child care and education provider we provide our parents with the following guarantees:
You are always welcome in the nursery. No appointment is needed. We have nothing to hide.
We are registered to care for up to thirty-five children aged two and over. There will never be more than thirty-five children at the nursery.
There will always be at least two members of staff at the nursery. There will be at least one member of staff for every four children under the age of three and at least one member of staff for every eight children over the age of three.
Every member of staff caring for the children at Westfield is qualified in early years childcare and education (with the temporary exception of Tracy who is covering maternity leave.)
We are proud of our community links which include providing an opportunity for students to gain work experience in the nursery. Any student in the nursery will have been made fully aware of all our policies and will always work under supervision. Students are always in addition to the staff ratios outlined above.
Every member of staff earns well above the minimum wage. Our staff turnover is very low (Two of us have been here since 1991!). We promote, encourage and assist staff to undertake a wide range of training.
Copies of our inspection reports and full details of all our policies are available for you to take home. They are also published on this website . Our last OFSTED inspection was published in 2006.
