A few of the schoolies
The schoolies have started the term off in a very enthusiastic mode. Take a look at their design talents in the photo opposite.

They have also recently been involved in a fund raising effort. They spent several weeks making book marks, jewellery, pet bowl mats, organising a treasure hunt and raffle to name but a few of the events at the nursery's Open Day back in November.
The children organised a rota of volunteers to help 'man' the stalls on the day and raised a fabulous £64.54 for their chosen charity of UNICEF. A leaflet sent through the post from UNICEF inspired all of the schoolies to want to help children less fortunate than themselves.
In December they sent off details of what their hard earned cash was to be spent on and they have recently received certificates of Thanks confirming their chosen gifts of vaccines, mosquitoe nets and carriers for the vaccines to be transported on bicycles.
The children have had their first meeting of the new year and have been deciding what they would like to do over the next few weeks.
They would like to have a fashion design evening an art competition, a DVD night, a poetry competition and a Magic night. All the children make suggestions and as many as possible are followed up. The children choose far more interesting activities than the adults anyway!
